Event Details

Although the scientific method is meant to be objective, science is not bias-free. Conscious and unconscious biases are a well-known phenomenon spanning through various aspects of our working life, from scientific research to research funding and academic positions. An example of this is provided by gender bias in research. FENS is committed to the advancement of gender equality in science and the event will provide opportunities to discuss topics which are relevant to the current situation of women and men in science. This would include gender statistics related to research funding, ways of combining career progress with family and parenting, and ongoing initiatives to support women and men in science. This highly interactive event will provide attendees with knowledge, inspiration and networking opportunities.
